This webinar explores how a successful and impactful rural tourism association was established in Belarus and benefitted thousands of association members over a 20-year period. Panelists Valeria Klitsounova from Belarusian State University and Darya Pukas from Colorado State University will share examples from the field including the creation of the first food and craft cluster in Belarus, the role of women entrepreneurship, and the development of cross-border routes with Latvia and Lithuania to promote culinary and craft heritage.
Regulations, zoning, liability, and funding are some of the most pressing concerns of agritourism operators in just about every country. Those issues may seem intractable from the perspective of an individual farm, but the Global Agritourism Network (GAN) Policy Committee has found that progress is being made in several parts of the world. What are the most successful policies for supporting agritourism? How can we expand their success and implementation in additional places? Join Rose Wright from New South Wales, Australia and Marge Kilkelly from Maine, USA for a discussion of the challenges and opportunities for supporting agritourism through local, regional, and national policies.
