Raised on romantic stories of their grandmother’s life on a dry land farm in Montana, siblings Morgan and Nick Conver are rekindling a family legacy through ranching.
Tangen Draw, their ranch located in Big Timber, Montana, has been a catalyst in restoring their roots in ranching, fostering a deep respect for the land, and growing a passion for exceptional meats.
As President and champion of Tangen Draw, Morgan views regenerative ranching as more than just sustainable agriculture – it’s a powerful way to restore vitality to the land, nourish people’s health, and strengthen local communities.

“We believe health doesn’t start on your plate, it starts in the soil. From earth to plant, from animal to human, everything is connected. When we nourish the land, we nourish life.”
Nick complements her perfectly, overseeing day-to-day operations at Compass Cattle, bringing practicality, innovation, and hands-on expertise to the ranching enterprise. Together, Morgan and Nick demonstrate that regenerative agriculture is both environmentally restorative and financially sustainable. By constantly improving their practices, they aim to show that regenerative ranching can be both economically successful and a powerful force for restoring soil, reviving biodiversity, and renewing water resources.
Morgan and Nick’s goal at Tangen Draw is to create exceptional products by producing bison and beef with flavors deeply influenced by Montana’s unique environment – a true expression of primal flavor. Their grass-fed, grass-finished, and dry-aged meats are crafted to stand proudly alongside the finest terroir-driven products, from fine wines to artisanal cheeses.
At its core, Tangen Draw is about stewardship of land, animals, and tradition. For Morgan and Nick, ranching isn’t just their heritage; it’s their responsibility to future generations.

“Some folks think it’s crazy to raise animals this way – to follow the rhythms of nature, to care about soil, flavor, and what your food ate. But honestly? I think it’s crazy not to,” says Morgan.
