Old Salt Festival is bringing three chef teams, seventeen musicians, and a lineup of artists, makers, and educators to Helmville, MT this June.

HELMVILLE, MT – (4/2/2024) — Old Salt Co-op presents the 2nd annual Old Salt Festival to be held June 21-23 on the Mannix Family Ranch in Helmville, Montana. The Old Salt Festival stands on its own in the long buildup of Montana festivals as a celebration of land stewardship through food, craftsmanship, and music, and three chef teams will be cooking meat from livestock born, raised, and processed here in Montana by Old Salt Co-op.

Eat Montana Meat with Chefs Eduardo Garcia, Mona Johnson, Jaret Foster, and Spike Gjerde

Headlining the food aspects of the festival are Bozeman’s  Eduardo Garcia of Montana Mex, Portland’s Mona Johnson and Jaret Foster of Tournant, and Baltimore’s Spike Gjerde of the Woodberry Kitchen. Each day, one chef will present a series of small plates of food cooked onsite, highlighting Montana’s meat culture with his or her infused style of cooking. Small plates are included as part of the festival tickets, and festival goers should expect to see chefs working with open-fire, cast-iron, and more as part of the ambiance.

Musical Headliners: The Last Revel, Emily Nenni, and Summer Dean

Old Salt is pleased to announce their music headliners: The Last Revel, Emily Nenni, and Summer Dean. Headlining Friday, The Last Revel is a four-piece folk group from Minneapolis, MN that identifies as ‘modern Americana’. The group blends the genres of folk, old-time strings, and indie rock. Saturday night, Emily Nenni takes the stage, and reviewers have called her the one of “freshest and most electrifying voices” in Nashville. With a new album dropping May 4th, they expect Nenni to bring a mix of new music and fan favorites to the main stage.

Sunday evening, the dynamic Summer Dean is set to make a second appearance at Old Salt. Dean’s country style infuses Texan swagger with a melodic old school feel.

Beyond their headliners, Old Salt is welcoming in musicians from across the U.S., including Montana’s own Riddy Arman, Indigenous singer-songwriter Christian Wallowing Bull, Nashville’s Sterling Drake, Coloradan Kade Hoffman, and more.

Their celebration of Americana features the following artists as well: Tris Munsick & the Innocents, Noeline Hofmann, Brennan Scott Greene, Mallory Eagle, Rob Quist, Eli West, Zach Aaron, Tony Furtado, Rob Wolf, and Zia Blue.
