Golden Yolk Griddle, which started as a popular breakfast sandwich booth at the Clark Fork Market 10 years ago, is now a community powered take-out restaurant, dedicated to offering delicious, locally sourced food, nurturing community relationships, and supporting racial and social justice.
GYG is known for their consciously sourced breakfast and lunch options, including their Farmer’s Market Breakfast Sandwiches and locally sourced, house braised and roasted meats for lunch and burritos and tacos.
When asked why they value local, GYG said, “Sourcing local ingredients guarantees the freshest, most flavorful ingredients, while minimizing our carbon footprint and supporting other small businesses.”
Beyond sourcing local ingredients, GYG also lessens their impact on the planet by using compostable packaging, composting their food-scraps with Soil Cycle, encouraging sustainable commuting by collaborating with Missoula In Motion. In addition to sustainability being a core value, GYG promotes racial and social justice, equity, diversity & inclusion through internal systems and daily practices they’ve developed.
