Patrick will present on Soil Health Basics, including nutrient assessments, soil testing, and amending. Attendees will learn how to interpret soil test results and develop farm/ranch strategies that build or maintain soil health.
Karl Sutton

Karl will talk about his LOR project, which aimed to “Deploy and evaluate the impact of using a specially designed automated seeder, synthetic mulch, and a reusable drip line to improve labor efficiency and water precision on a 15-acre organic vegetable and flower farm.” Karl will demonstrate the tools associated with this project, all of which contribute to healthy soil and efficient use of natural resources.

Jennifer will share how she remediated her site’s soil by hand – transforming a former industrial lot into a blooming flower farm. She will discuss her farm’s specific soil health considerations and how they’ve changed over time.
