Home Canning Fall Lecture Series: Part 1

Come to any or all of these FREE lectures hosted by MSUB and located at the Billings Public Library (510 N Broadway, Billings, MT).

HOME CANNING 101 – September 4th (5:45-6:45pm) 
This session provides a general overview of the principles and science
of home canning. Participants will learn about acceptable methods for
canning; recognizing unsafe or outdated practices; and equipment
selection based on their preferred canning method.

PRESSURE CANNER CARE & OPERATION – September 18th (5:45-6:45pm)
Participants will be introduced to the care and operation of their
pressure canner. Identifying key features in function and safety;
cleaning and storage between seasons; and processing basics will be
covered in this session.

WATER BATH 101 – October 2nd (5:45-6:45pm)
In this session, participants will learn the basics of water bath canning;
identify what foods are canned with this method; and be able to
outline the steps for successful water bath canning.
