General Mills & MOA: Listening Tour – Great Falls

June 4 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

General Mills, in collaboration with the Montana Organic Association, is hosting a two-day listening tour focused on dryland organic farming practices in Montana.

Listening Tour Goals:

  • Agronomy & Rotations – Discuss the techniques and rotations that enable Montana’s dryland organic growers to produce high-quality wheat without synthetic fertilizer.
  • Barriers to Legumes & Alfalfa – Identify obstacles producers face when incorporating legumes, especially alfalfa, into their rotations.
  • Organic System Plan as a Tool – Explore how the Organic System Plan can help verify soil health practices and return value to organic farmers.

General Mills and MOA are aiming to bring together both organic and conventional producers to foster open, solution-oriented dialogue. A key focus will be understanding what holds conventional farmers back from adopting more organic practices—or transitioning fully.
