Youth grades 1st-8th or ages 6-15 will spend approximately 2 hours each Monday afternoon from Sept 9 – Dec 16, 2024 experiencing life on a homestead and learning age-appropriate homesteading skills. Fall planting, incubating, hatching and raising chicks, proper ways to care for a variety of farm animals, Fall planting of vegetables, Fall harvest, preserving health food options for off-season eating, team work, problem solving, and value of community endeavors all while integrating math and science into a practical application.
The program will follow the Helena School District Early Out schedule. Homeschoolers are welcome! Drop-offs can be anytime between 2:15 & 3:30 pm and pick-up between 5 & 6 pm. The program will include healthy snacks and carpool coordination.
The fee is designed per child and is less than $10/hour. Parents are FREE and encouraged to participate along with the youth. For multiple child pricing, please contact Dr. Tabitha at 406-459-2746. If parent is attending with a paid child and has younger children (under 6 years old), they are all welcome to attend.
