Jess Maisel started Green Source Missoula in 2014 as a Green Smoothie Delivery Service. After two years and a lot of encouragement from customers, she opened her shop on the Hip Strip in Missoula in September 2016.
From the beginning, her interest and passion was to support local farmers. Known for organic, premium quality fresh food and drinks that taste great and make you feel great, Green Source seeks to connect Missoulians with the amazing abundance of organic produce that is grown in the region by small-scale, local farmers.
When asked why she values local, Jess said, “As a business owner, I am thrilled to bring my values around sustainable food chains and nutrient dense meals to my community! I know the impact that large scale agriculture has on the planet. I also know that if we don’t support local, farmers will go out of business and we won’t have the option to buy local anymore. Local food = food security. Local food = preservation of farmland and open space.”
In addition to sourcing local ingredients, Green Source also composts their food-scraps with Missoula Compost Collection donates to local non-profits, and shares their business plan with other businesses who are interested in making changes for the better!
It’s more than a meal. When you support Abundant Montana restaurants, you support local farms & ranches.
