The Ruby Valley Strategic Alliance’s annual Summer Field Tour is on Wednesday, July 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will begin at the Alder Fire Hall before heading out into the field. I’ve attached the event flyer with additional details.

This year’s tour will focus on healthy rangelands and the role of prescribed fire as an important management tool. Participants will hear from experts about conifer encroachment and its impacts on rangelands, considerations and tools for implementing prescribed fire, and lessons learned from several burn sites representing different stages of post-fire recovery.

The RVSA’s field tours provide an opportunity to learn together on the ground, share perspectives, and strengthen relationships among landowners, agency staff, elected officials, conservation organizations, and other stakeholders who care about the future of the Ruby Valley and surrounding landscapes.
