The Dutton Civic Club’s seventh annual Chili Cookoff is set for Friday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. at the Dutton American Legion Hall. Admission is by a free-will offering with all proceeds going toward the Dutton Civic Club Scholarship fund.

Cooks should let Lily Wahl at 406-788-3512 know by Dec. 4 that they are going to enter chili in the contest. Prizes will be given for first, second and third places. People attending the cookoff will vote on their favorite chili dishes, identified only by number. Tasting and voting will begin at 5 p.m. and close at 7 p.m.

The Civic Club is also encouraging local cooks to bake their best cheesecake and enter it in the “In Memory of Julia Timmerman” cheesecake contest. There is no charge to enter and no charge for tasting, but all those who taste samples must vote. Prizes will be awarded to the best cheesecakes.

The American Legion Bar will be open for no-host drinks and the Badger Creek band will perform.
