Dupuyer Producer Outreach Group

November 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Rocky Mountain Front Ranchlands Group is holding a series of producer outreach workshops to introduce ag producers to our new Outreach Coordinator, Lori Rosenberger, and share how she will be available to assist producers with navigating Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs. Rocky Mountain Front Ranchlands Group, in partnership with Western Landowners Alliance, received a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to facilitate the Outreach Coordinator position. Lori is hired through Western Landowners Alliance and will conduct producer outreach on the Rocky Mountain Front and the Blackfeet Nation. The goal is to connect historically underserved producers with information about NRCS and FSA programs, as well as assist them with writing management plans and applications for the programs.

Trina Jo Bradley, RMFRG Executive Director, and Megan Terry and Linda Poole of Western Landowners Alliance will also be on hand to answer questions and share information. Staff from both Farm Service Agency (FSA) and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will give an overview of the application processes for producers and what is needed in order to start an application for programs. Nate Owens, Kara Maplethorpe, and Steve Primm of Heart of the Rockies Initiative will also be available to answer questions and give an overview of the new grizzly bear and wolf conflict prevention programs through NRCS. They will also share an overview of the America the Beautiful Grant funding that will also be available to use for grizzly bear conflict prevention. To round out the evening, we will have a brief update from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks and US Fish and Wildlife Service on grizzly bear management and actions.
