We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Farm to Wholesale Map, a vital tool designed to connect Montana’s producers and distributors with schools, institutions, restaurants, and retailers interested in sourcing local food.

Similar to our Find Food & Farms Map, (built for everyday eaters on the hunt for local food), the Farm to Wholesale Map is designed specifically for wholesale buyers. Users can easily search by location, product type, growing practice, and more, making it easier than ever for wholesale buyers to discover and source Montana-grown or raised food directly from Montana producers.

By bridging this critical gap in the supply chain, the Farm to Wholesale Map supports stronger, more resilient relationships across Montana’s local food system.

“Our end goal here is to have more Montana food on all Montana plates,” says Erin Austin, our Director of Community Partners and Sales, “And if we’re going to do that, we have to increase the demand for local food, both at the individual level, and also from institutional and wholesale buyers. So we’re thinking about schools, hospitals, grocery stores, retail outlets, etc, and having Montana grown foods be as available and prevalent on grocery store shelves and anywhere else compared to other options.”

A strong local food system means a stronger Montana. That’s why we’ve set an ambitious goal: 33% Montana food on all Montana plates by 2033. This effort, known as The 33×33 for Montana Initiative, tackles the challenges facing our food system at every level, from policy to partnerships, and everything in between.

The Farm to Wholesale Map is a key part of that mission, helping local producers reach bigger markets and giving buyers the tools to source local, reliable, and sustainable food right here in Montana.

  • Are you a wholesale buyer? Find Montana producers and start sourcing local food for your business or institution today.

  • Are you a Montana producer? Get your products in front of wholesale buyers across the state.

  • Not a buyer or producer? You can still make a difference! Encourage your favorite grocery stores, restaurants, and institutions to invest in Montana’s sustainability by sourcing locally (Maybe even share the Farm to Wholesale Map with them!)

Together, we can strengthen Montana’s future and ensure that more Montana-grown food finds its way onto Montana plates.
