LIFTT is a Montana 501(c)3 corporation organized as a Center for Independent Living (CIL). With team members based in Billings and Glendive, LIFTT provides aging and disabled members of the community with programs and services that help empower them to break down the physical, bureaucratic, and cultural barriers that prevent them from being fully independent participants in their lives and communities throughout 18 counties in southeastern and south-central Montana: Big Horn, Carbon, Carter, Custer, Dawson, Fallon, Garfield, Golden Valley, McCone, Musselshell, Powder River, Prairie, Richland, Rosebud, Stillwater, Treasure, Wibaux, and Yellowstone. For more information, please visit liftt.org or download our mobile app for your Apple or Android Device.

All are invited to participate in the LIFTT Accessible Community Garden. Your $20 registration fee helps to cover the cost of watering and maintaining the garden this season. It also provides some seeds, the use of our growing library of gardening tools, and access to guidance from some expert green thumbs! (There have also been a lot of seeds and plants donated this season that can be used free of charge!) These resources will allow individuals with mobility limitations, arthritis, low grip strength, or other challenges to actively engage in gardening, workshops, and community activities. People of all abilities, aging and disabled individuals alongside those without disabilities, can fully participate in the joys and benefits of gardening. Consumers who have never planted a seed before find themselves harvesting produce with pride. Individuals living with anxiety, chronic illness, or mobility challenges discover new strength in tending soil surrounded by peers who understand their journey. The garden has become more than a program; it is a living metaphor for what independent living can look like when barriers are removed and support is rooted in community.
