The Homestead Organics Farm campus is the 'Farm Classroom' for Cultivating Connections Montana. Homestead Organics Farm is REAL ORGANIC PROJECT certified, and certified organic by the Montana Dept. of Agriculture.
Cultivating Connections Montana is a non-profit that employs youth in agriculture, creates opportunity for authentic engagement, and aims to 'Build Community Through Food!'
Located 4 miles south of Hamilton on Skalkaho Highway, Homestead Organics Farm has 14 acres and is visible from Highway 93. We are open to the public! We welcome visitors and volunteers, and encourage our community to participate, see, and experience where their food comes from.
Cultivating Connections Montana and our 'Youth Farm Internship' program offers summer CSA subscriptions. The youth run our on-site FarmStand on Tuesdays from 3-6PM June through October, as well as our Darby Farmers' Market booth on Tuesdays from 10AM-2PM June-September, and our Hamilton Farmers' Market booth on Saturdays 9-12:30 May-October.
The farm hosts monthly skill-building or knowledge-sharing workshops, under the 'Building A Stronger Bitterroot' project of Cultivating Connections Montana.
On the farm we grow organic- Seeds!!, mixed veggies, fruit, meat chickens and turkeys, egg layer chickens, heritage turkeys, potbelly pigs, goats, ducks, geese, and Community!
Cultivating Connections Montana has many events planned for the summer of 2022 including: Thursday Outdoor and Art camp for kids 7-10 in June and July, Friday Cooking Camp in July, Ideas Camp August 1-4 for middle schoolers, Farm Fun Day June 25, Feast in the Field July 9, Haunted Farm in October (including Haunted Farm Builders Club starting in late September), Thursdays are Volunteer Day, Seed Saving Walks in July and October, Mayday! Gardens- free garden starts in late May and mid June, Kinder-Gardeners and preschool visits, and more!

Farm Visits: Visitors Welcome any time, except on Sundays. Please close any door or gate that you open and have a nice visit!

We grow a wide variety of vegetables and greens, serving the community through a summer and fall CSA program, an on-site Farm Stand, and a variety of youth educational programming. The Youth Roots Project welcomes youth from the Bitterroot Attention Home to tend to their own garden located at the farm while working side by side with farmers and interns in the field. Farm Camp takes place each July for children ages 6-12 and the middle school age group called Girls Using Their Strength stays at and participates in the farm during the summer.

- We offer a 'Buy-One/Give-One' CSA model. For every CSA share purchased one share is donated within our community. Our Darby Farmers Market booth is By Donation/pay what you can.
