As a Food & Agricultural Development Center, Headwaters is part of a network of centers in Montana that provide assistance in food and value-added agricultural product development and marketing and farm-based energy development. The network has centers at Joliet, Havre, Ronan and in southwestern Montana that operate with funding from the 2011 Legislature. The centers focus on adding value to our existing agricultural resources within Montana, keeping more of our agricultural products within the state by processing them locally, and exponentially increasing the value of our products before they leave Montana. We work to support economic development by ensuring that more of the state's food, agricultural and energy dollars circulate in Montana.
