Dexter and Karla Buck, the founders of Bear Paw Incorporated, were born and raised on farms on the Montana hi-line. Dexter and Karla started their lives together with their three children and were busy with Dexter as a cattle buyer and Karla as a nurse. They soon bought Bear Paw Livestock and slowly added in a feedlot which is run by their hired hand, Kenny. They then partnered with their son, Travis, and his wife to purchase Bear Paw Farms, where they harvest their own crops to feed cattle for harvest and sale at Bear Paw Meats. Bear Paw Meats was purchased in 2005 with the help from of their daughters, Bobbi, Ashley and Bobbi's husband, Larry. Dexter and Karla have created a top notch facility for producing quality meats. They purchased a retail store in Havre which is operated by their daughter Ashley. Bear Paw Meats provides all Northern-bred, raised, fed and processed Montana meats (beef, pork and lamb). Straight from Montana ranches, the product goes to Bear Paw Livestock. After purchased at a competitive market, the product is backgrounded and finished at our local feedlot where only local grain, hay and silage are fed. From Bear Paw Livestock the product goes directly to Bear Paw Meats, LLC. Here the product is harvested, processed, packaged and ready for sale to our local community.
