Hays

Our community members take pride in our school because everyone is a leader in the classroom, on the court, and in the small town of Hays. All of our students lead by example: we have the first Native American student to serve on a student panel for MHSA, to attend a pre-med studies camp at Harvard this spring, or to represent Montana in Washington D.C.

Our students strive for excellence. They want to make our school and community a better environment for our future Thunderbirds. The unique thing about the Hays Lodgepole High School is that we are able to be involved with our culture and it has improved our school tremendously. We have daily morning meetings that consists of praying, smudging, doing the pledge of allegiance in Nakoda, Gros Ventre, and English, and playing a traditional song on the school drum.
