Are you hungry for change? Sarah Manuel, owner and chef of the Streatery and Farmer Meets Foodie, believes in challenging the way society has taught us to eat.
She describes Streatery Food Truck as a humble beginning in her efforts to contribute to the reconstruction of a broken food system. When it comes to ingredient sourcing, if a good, nutritional product is available locally, Sarah chooses it over a cheaper, distant product every time. She does this for a myriad of reasons, all of which relate back to going against the grain of the modern day food giants.
“For us, local ingredients aren’t a bonus or a marketing scheme – they’re literally the foundational tools on which we base our ever changing menus. Farmer Meets Foodie cannot exist without our local food producers. They are an integral part of our mission, which is to help maintain the integrity of local agriculture by using local, seasonal and rotational ingredients.”
