Whitefish Community Garden provides raised bed gardens for individuals and families to cultivate organic vegetables, and we support Whitefish North Valley Food Bank with harvest from the garden. In addition to 48 garden beds for families, individuals, and scholarships, we have 7 garden beds dedicated to providing fresh produce to the North Valley Food Bank.
In the summer of 2020, we planted a Monarch butterfly way station in conjunction with a national project. Gardeners are supplied with tools, water, compost, manure + a bed: all they need is seeds.
Our members volunteer 6 hours per season to the garden's upkeep and maintenance (outside of their own beds), in addition to assisting with the weekly food bank harvest. In addition to our raised beds, we have community beds of asparagus, berries, herbs, flowers, and an orchard with apples, cherries, and plums.
Our mission is to grow food and cultivate community.
