SUMMARY:Rural Resilience- Ranch Health: Cattle Vaccination Best Practices
DESCRIPTION:Join the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance for the sixth year of the Rural Resilience Webinar Series\, where they’re growing their ranching and rural community’s financial\, ecological\, and social resilience with experienced speakers and actionable insights. \nThis free\, four-part series will tackle key topics designed to support ranchers and rural residents: \nFebruary 5 – Ranch Health: Cattle Vaccination Best Practices \nHealthy herds are the foundation of a resilient ranch. Dr. Katie Rein of Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service will share practical\, hands-on guidance for livestock vaccination\, covering needle size selection\, proper injection sites\, and the differences between subcutaneous and intramuscular methods. This session is ideal for ranch hands\, interns\, spouses\, or friends who assist with livestock care\, as well as experienced ranchers seeking a refresher or those who were never formally taught vaccination techniques. \nAbout the Speaker: I grew up on a ranch west of Melville\, MT\, which has been in my family since 1893. After that\, I worked at Harlowton Veterinary Clinic for two years before starting Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service. \nEach session includes a 60-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A\, allowing you to engage directly with Ranchers Stewardship Alliance’s expert speakers. \nCost: FREE! \nDon’t miss this opportunity to gain practical knowledge and connect with others dedicated to building resilient ranching and rural communities. \nPre-registration is required—Zoom link will be emailed upon registration. \nThe Zoom link is the same for all four webinars. \n(PLEASE NOTE: You will be registering for the entire series.  It is not necessary to register for each webinar separately.)

SUMMARY:Financial Training Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by: Western Sustainability Exchange \nThe Financial Training Workshop in Miles City is the second session in this two-part series and is designed to build on the foundational financial skills introduced in the first workshop. Educators and agriculturalists will move beyond the basics to take a deeper\, more strategic look at their operation\, starting with defining their “why” and understanding how it drives financial and business decisions. \nTopics include evaluating and operating within different markets\, analyzing year-over-year financial trends\, and taking a long-term\, whole-picture approach to profitability. The workshop will also focus on practical management skills such as working on the business instead of just in it\, breaking out enterprises\, and implementing quarterly accounting procedures. Participants will learn how to build and use budgets throughout the year\, create accountability\, and bring the entire team or family into the financial process so everyone is aligned and moving toward the same goals. \nThis workshop is FREE but space is very limited! \nThis material is based upon work that is supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture\, U.S. Department of Agriculture\, under award number 2024-38640-42985 through the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program under project number WPDP25-030.
