DESCRIPTION:Experience the magic of grafting your own apple tree! \nJoin James Sapp of Sapp’s Permaculture Orchard for a hands-on workshop that will introduce you to the world of fruit tree grafting. \nWhat is grafting?\nThe process of joining two plant parts– the rootstock and a scion– to create a new fruit tree with desired characteristics. \nThis workshop will cover: \n\nRootstock selection\nChoosing scion varieties\nProper knife use\nCare of newly grafted trees.\n\nSupplies provided!\nThese include rootstock\, apple scions*\, grafting knives\, grafting tape & sealant\, and additional wood for practice.\nParticipants will leave with a grafted apple tree to plant at home! \n*Have a favorite apple tree that you’d like to replicate? Participants are welcome to bring in their own scions for grafting!
