Mark Majerus has spent his entire career working with grasses and has authored a book entitled ‘Forage and Reclamation Grasses of the Northern Great Plains and Rocky Mountains’. \nLearn how to identify Montana’s important native grasses and discover the vital role they play in restoration\, wildlife habitat\, and sustainable landscapes. \nWhether you’re a landowner\, land manager\, conservation professional\, naturalist\, or simply curious about Montana’s prairies\, you’ll gain practical identification skills and a deeper appreciation for these often-overlooked plants. \nRegistration is encouraged to help plan for attendance and to receive event reminders and updates. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Turf to Trees Workshop will be held in Bozeman on August 19 and 20\, 2026. This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive exploration of how shifting climate patterns\, urban development\, and changing water availability are reshaping Montana’s landscapes. Attendees will learn how to select plants that are well-suited to specific site conditions–such as soil type\, moisture levels\, and climate–helping to reduce maintenance needs and improve long-term success. \nThe sessions will also cover how to assess key soil properties and offer practical strategies for enhancing soil health and function. In addition\, participants will gain insight into emerging insect pests and plant diseases affecting our landscapes. The workshop will emphasize integrated pest management (IPM) approaches\, including effective techniques for monitoring\, prevention\, and sustainable management.

See their BBQ food & drink menu below (the regular summer dinner menu is available Fridays through Wednesdays). Bohdi Farms offesr local beer\, local spirits\, regional wines and non-alcoholic options including their house made sodas. Bodhi Farms does have a full liquor license\, and it is against the law to bring outside alcohol to the property.  \n​ \nReservations are not taken for Farm Parties.  For parties of more than 12 please see below for the Private Lounge!​​ \n​ \nIn the case of severe weather\, please call for updates!
