SUMMARY:Book Launch- Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods
DESCRIPTION:The Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods book will launch on March 3rd\, 2026. Co-edited by author Liz Carlisle and Aubrey Streit Krug\, Director of The Land Institute’s Perennial Cultures Lab\, Living Roots makes the case for putting perennial foods at the center of our farms and our plates to add flavor and nutrients to our diets while reducing emissions and making our food system more resilient to climate change and economic uncertainty. \nThis book features contributions from several Land Institute scientists\, perennial grain research partners\, and members of the wider perennial agriculture network. It shares insights and perspectives from Indigenous scientists and community leaders working to restore buffalo prairies and the traditions of berry gathering; urban visionaries planting food forests; farmers planting fruit and nut trees between their crops and hedgerows at the edges of their fields; ranchers stewarding healthier grasslands by grazing livestock in patterns that mimic the behavior of native herbivores; and scientists and farmers who are developing perennial grains\, including sorghum and silphium. Living Roots is a vital introduction to this burgeoning movement and an invaluable resource for sustainable farming advocates and everyone who cares about the future of food.

Daily goat chores\, the why’s and how’s of keeping goats\, handling\, and training. (CEU’s thru CCPDT are approved and available with a months notice) \nOur goats are Alpine/Nubian crosses – we breed them for dairy and packing on trails. All of our goats are handled daily. Each month offers a different focus with our goats besides daily maintenance. Once you have paid there are NO – refunds\, transfers\, rescheduling. Please make sure this is the correct service for you\, that the dates and times work for your schedule\, before you pay. Your payment is your agreement to these terms and policies. \nNOTE – once we receive reg/pay there are NO REFUNDS\, the class size will be small so we don’t overwhelm our herd\, and so each person can learn as much as possible. Please make sure you check dates/times before you reg/pay to make sure our GOAT CAMP works for your schedule. Again\, NO REFUNDS. \nNOTE – you will receive a detailed outline at the beginning of each month that will be specific to what we will be working on / doing. \nNOTE – upon reg/pay we will send you a liability form that needs to be filled out and completed \nNOTE – no children \nNOTE – you need to be prepared and able to work/dress for work on a farm/listen to directions and follow them.
