You’re invited to the virtual release of Farming into the Future by Centering Farm Workers – a new resource informed by farmworkers’ voices and aimed at supporting positive, long-term employment opportunities for workers on diversified vegetable farms. This resource contains concrete, action-oriented tips and examples that highlight various paths forward – and that will ultimately support strong farm businesses and improved quality of life for everyone working on the farm.
During this event, we’ll take a look at four things employees have said they deeply value in a workplace: communication, work environment, opportunities for growth and advancement, and livable wages. We’ll also hear from both owners and workers about some of their experiences with these topics.
Our hope is that farm owners and workers alike leave with tangible next steps to take into the next season. There will be ample room for everyone in attendance to share their own experiences, learn from others, and brainstorm together about our collective farming futures.
We will record the formal presentation portion of this gathering. The open discussion to follow will not be recorded. Farm owners, farm employees, and farm adjacent professionals are welcome to attend.
This event is brought to you by Anita Adalja (Not Our Farm), Rue Policastro (Owl’s Nest Farm), and Sarah Janes Ugoretz (FairShare CSA Coalition).
